Maple Walnut Bars

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Granulated brown sugar replacement 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Maple syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs) (dietetic)
  Eggs 2
  Vanilla extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Dash
  Walnuts 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), chopped
Directions

Combine the 1 1/2 cup (375 mL) of flour, brown sugar replacement, and margarine in a mixing bowl.
Using a pastry blender, a fork, or your fingers, work the dough into crumbs.
Press the crumbs into the bottom of a greased 13 x 9 in. (33 x 23 cm) baking pan.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes.
Heat maple syrup until warm.
Beat eggs in a bowl.
Slowly pour the hot maple syrup into the beaten egg, stirring constantly.
Stir in vanilla, the 2 tsp (30 mL) of flour, and salt.
Blend thoroughly.
Pour over baked crust.
Sprinkle with walnuts.
Return to oven, and bake 15 or 20 minutes more.
Allow to cool in pan.
