Chocolate Date And Nut Bars
|Granulated sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sifted all purpose flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Chocolate flavored syrup||6 Tablespoon|
|Walnut meats||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
|Dates||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped into small pieces|
Beat eggs thoroughly; gradually beat in sugar.
Sift flour and baking powder; add to egg-sugar mixture; then add chocolate syrup, vanilla, nuts and dates.
Beat mixture together; spread in a greased shallow 9x9-inch pan.
Bake in a 350 F oven for 25 minutes.
Cut into 1 x 3-inch strips.
Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
