Caramel Flavored Bars
|All purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Granulated brown sugar replacement||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Granulated fructose||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Caramel flavoring||1 Teaspoon|
|Burnt sugar flavoring||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Finely chopped walnuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
Combine margarine, brown sugar replacement, and fructose in a mixing bowl.
Stir to blend thoroughly.
Add egg, flavorings, and vanilla extract; mix well.
Gradually stir flour mixture into margarine mixture.
Stir in walnuts.
Spread mixture into the bottom of a greased 8 x 8 in. (20 x 20 cm) baking pan.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes, or until top springs back when touched.
Cool in pan on rack.
