Ingredients
  Flour 1 Pound
  Soda bicarbonate 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cream of tartar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Currants 6 Ounce
  Butter 4 Ounce
  Milk 1 Teaspoon (Leveled) (little quantity)
  Butter 1 Teaspoon (Leveled) (little quantity)
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Parava 4 Ounce (pure vegetable fat)
Directions

Rub the Parava and butter into the flour.
Add cream of tartar, Bi-carb.
and salt.
Add the currants.
Make into a stiff dough with the milk.
Shape into a round and roll out to 1/2" thickness.
Rub a gridle with a little butter.
Place the cake onto it and cook until the underside is brown.
Turn carefully with a palette knife.
Turn again when cooked to have it quite hot.
Cut into pieces, split, butter and serve hot.
