Best Banana Cake
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Sifted flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Buttermilk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (or sour milk)|
|Bananas||1 Cup (16 tbs), mashed|
Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy; beat eggs lightly and add to creamed mixture.
Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with sour milk, beginning and ending with flour.
Add vanilla, mixing thoroughly.
Fold in bananas, stirring well.
Pour into two greased and floured 9-inch layer pans or 1 (9-inch) tube pan and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 50 minutes.
Fill between layers and top with sliced bananas and sweetened whipped cream.
