|Fresh lemon juice||1 Teaspoon|
|Dry bread crumbs||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Peel and cut bananas in half crosswise and then lengthwise. (Each banana should yield four pieces.) Sprinkle the banana wedges with salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
Combine egg and water in a flat-bottomed bowl.
Beat with fork to completely blend.
Dip and roll banana in the egg mixture.
Roll in the bread crumbs.
Shake off any excess crumbs.
Fry in deep fat at 325°F (165°C) until golden brown.
