Nutty Bourbon Balls
|Finely crushed vanilla wafers||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sifted powdered sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chopped walnuts||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Chopped candied cherries||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Unsweetened cocoa powder||2 Tablespoon|
|Light corn syrup||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sifted powdered sugar||1 Tablespoon|
• In a mixing bowl combine crushed vanilla wafers, the 1 cup powdered sugar, walnuts, candied cherries, and cocoa powder. Stir in bourbon, water, and light corn syrup till well combined. Chill the mixture about 30 minutes.
• Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place balls in an airtight container; let the balls stand (ripen) for 2 to 3 days. Before serving the balls, roll them in additional sifted powdered sugar.
