Ornbread With Bacon
|Alfalfa sprouts||1 Cup (16 tbs) (About 1/4 Inch)|
|White flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Stone ground yellow cornmeal||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Bacon fat||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Preheat oven to 400°.
Cook bacon and remove to drain.
Reserve 1/4 cup bacon fat.
Chop bacon fine with sprouts.
In large mixing bowl put flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and salt.
Add egg, milk and fat all at once.
Stir together quickly.
Add bacon and sprouts and mix well.
Spoon batter into greased 8-inch square pan.
Bake for 20 minutes until done.
