Baked Acorn Squash With Bacon
|Ground black pepper||To Taste|
|Bacon slices||3 , cut into halves|
|Brown sugar||2 Tablespoon|
1. Preheat oven to moderate (350° F.).
2. Cut the squash in half and spoon out the seeds. Arrange the squash halves, cut side up, on a baking sheet.
3. Drop one tablespoon of butter into the cavity of each half and season to taste with salt and pepper. Add half a slice of bacon to each half and one teaspoon of brown sugar. Bake forty-five minutes, or until the vegetable is tender when tested with a fork.
