Italian Marinated Asparagus

Ingredients
  Asparagus spears 1 Pound
  Italian salad dressing 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chablis/Dry white wine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Tarragon vinegar 1 Tablespoon
  Dried basil 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dried whole oregano 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm)
  Romaine lettuce 1
Directions

Snap off tough ends of asparagus.
Remove scales with a knife or a vegetable peeler.
Cook asparagus, covered, in a small amount of boiling water 6 to 8 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain.
Combine next 7 ingredients in a jar; cover tightly, and shake vigorously.
Place asparagus in a shallow dish; pour dressing over asparagus.
Cover and chill overnight.
Drain well.
Arrange spears on lettuce.
