Scalloped Asparagus

Ingredients
  Asparagus 20 Ounce, frozen (2 Packages)
  Water 2 Tablespoon
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon
  Slivered almonds 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon
  All purpose flour 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Shredded sharp cheddar cheese 2 Ounce
Directions

Place asparagus and water in 2-quart casserole; cover.
Microwave at HIGH (100%) until heated through, 8 to 10 minutes, stirring to break apart after half the time.
Drain and set aside.
Place 2 tablespoons margarine in small bowl.
Microwave at HIGH (100%) until melted, 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Mix in almonds until coated.
Microwave at HIGH (100%) until light brown, 2 to 3 minutes.
Set aside.
Place 1 tablespoon margarine in small bowl or 2-cup measure.
Microwave at HIGH (100%) until melted, 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Stir in flour and salt.
Blend in milk.
Reduce power to MEDIUM-HIGH (70%).
Microwave until thickened, 2 to 3 1/2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Stir in cheese until melted.
Pour over asparagus.
Sprinkle with almonds.
Microwave at MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) until heated through, 2 to 3 minutes.
