Confetti Asparagus Bake
|Frozen asparagus spears||20 Ounce (2 Packages)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Seasoned bread crumbs||2 Tablespoon|
|Onion||3 Tablespoon, finely chopped|
|Celery||3 Tablespoon, finely chopped|
|Tomato||1 , chopped, drained|
|Dried leaf basil||1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Dried leaf thyme||1⁄4 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Parmesan cheese||2 Tablespoon, grated|
1 Loosen wrapping on asparagus packages.
2 Place packages in microwave oven on paper towels.
3 Microwave at 100% (HIGH) for 3 minutes.
4 On a round 12-inch microwave platter, arrange asparagus spears, spoke-fashion, with tips pointing towards center.
5 In a small bowl, microwave butter or margarine at 100% (HIGH) for 1 minute or until melted.
6 Combine 1 tablespoon melted butter or margarine with bread crumbs; set aside.
7 Sprinkle onion, celery and tomato pieces over asparagus.
8 Drizzle with remaining melted butter or margarine.
9 Sprinkle with basil and thyme.
10 Cover with vented plastic wrap.
11 Microwave at 100% (HIGH) for 10 to 11 minutes or until asparagus is tender, giving platter a half turn after 5 minutes.
12 Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and buttered crumbs.
