If using fresh asparagus, trim and cut into 1-inch pieces.
Steam until tender.
If using frozen asparagus, cook according to instructions on package.
Butter a casserole and arrange half the asparagus on the bottom, cover with hard-cooked egg slices, then add the remaining asparagus.
Combine cheese, sesame seeds and bread crumbs.
Spread evenly over the asparagus.
Pour the chicken stock over all and place under broiler until cheese is melted.
