Break off each asparagus spear as far as it will snap easily; peel off scales with potato peeler.
Rinse several times to remove sand.
Heat oil and water to boiling in pan large enough to accommodate asparagus stalks.
Add asparagus and salt to boiling water; cover pan.
Cook over high heat 12 minutes or until asparagus is fork-tender; drain.
Serve asparagus immediately with Garlic Mayonnaise.
