Asparagus Marinated In Wine Vinegar

Ingredients
  Asparagus spears/14 1/2 ounce cans asparagus spears, drained 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Green pepper 1 , chopped
  Green onions with tops 3⁄4 Bunch (75 gm), or 1 small bunch, chopped
  Stalk celery 1 , finely chopped
  Vegetable oil 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Red wine vinegar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Paprika 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pimiento strips 2
Directions

Snap off tough ends of asparagus.
Remove scales from stalks with a knife or vegetable peeler, if desired.
Cook asparagus, covered, in boiling water 6 to 8 minutes or until crisp tender.
Drain.
Place asparagus in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish.
Combine green pepper and next 7 ingredients; stir well, and pour over asparagus; cover and chill at least 4 hours.
Drain before serving; garnish with pimiento.
