The Rohu is a fresh water fish that is a delicacy in many parts of India. The Rohu belongs to the Cyprinidae family. The fish is considered a tasty treat in the Indian states of West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Bihar. The fish is an important part of the feasts prepared on special occasions. The fish is white and fleshy and is very delicious when fried or curried. The fish is stuffed with pointed gourd to make a delicacy called the potoler dorma.
