|Ground beef/Ground lamb||1 Pound|
|Bread crumbs||2 Tablespoon|
|Egg||1 , slightly beaten|
|Minced parsley||2 Teaspoon|
|Ground allspice||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground cumin||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Black pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Garlic||2 Clove (10 gm), pressed|
|Corn oil||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Mozola)|
|Hot red pepper||To Taste|
Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl, except the oil.
Knead well by hand.
Form into one and a half inch patties.
Fry the kuftas in heated oil until browned and cooked through.
Serve hot with rice or fried potatoes.
Variations: If you wish you can form the meat into small balls, make a hole in each one with your finger and fill the hollow with pine nuts.
Seal and roll into balls.
Fry in heated oil until browned and cooked through.
Arrange the balls on a serving platter, insert a frilled toothpick in each one and serve as a hot appetizer.
Or you can arrange the kuftas on a lightly greased baking pan.
Cover with two slices tomatoes and one green pepper, slivered.
Sprinkle with salt.
Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for about twenty minutes.
