How to Cook Brown Rice

In the 80's, my mom, who has always been a health guru, introduced us to brown rice, a grain no one had even heard of then. Now, I almost exclusively cook brown rice at home, so, in this video, I show you how to cook brown rice on your oven top. I encourage you to eat more brown rice for healthy living!
  Brown rice 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)

1. In a pot bring water to boil on medium heat. Add the brown rice, cover with a lid and bring it back to boil.
2. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for another 45 minutes or till the water is fully absorbed. Turn off the heat and let it sit for a few minutes. Using a spatula fluff up the rice.

3. In a serving plate serve the rice with choice of main dish.

Rice cooker can also be used to cook the brown rice.
