Hot Cinnamon Ginger Date Tea

Yinandyangliving's picture
When my siblings and I were sick with the cold, this is the tea my mom always made for us. It not only filled our bodies with warmth, but also served as a natural remedy for colds. The tea is steeped in fresh ginger, dried date, and cinnamon stick and then served with honey, fresh lemon juice and pine nuts. I always drink this tea when I feel like I'm getting a cold or have one! In this video, I show you my mom's recipe.
For the tea
  Water 6 Cup (96 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1 Large
  Ginger pieces 3 Inch, peeled
Dried dates 6 Medium, cut in half
For serving
  Honey To Taste
  Lemon 1⁄2 Medium, juiced
  Pine nuts 2 Tablespoon

1. In a pot pour water. Add cinnamon, ginger and dates. Bring it to boil on medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for another 20 minutes.

2. In a serving cup, pour the tea. Mix honey and lemon juice to taste. Garnish with pine nuts and serve hot.
