Oriental Meat Balls
|Sausage meat||1⁄2 Pound|
|Bread||2 Tablespoon, soaked in water|
|Flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Caramelized sugar||1 Tablespoon|
|Mild vinegar||4 Tablespoon|
Mix together the mince, sausage meat, egg, chopped onion, and soaked bread from which the water has been pressed.
Roll the mixture into small balls the size of a walnut: dip them in flour and fry in lard.
Brown the remaining onions finely shredded in some fat: add the sultanas, the caramelised sugar or gravy browning, mild vinegar thinned with half its own quantity of water, salt, and pepper.
Put the meat balls in this sauce, and leave to simmer very gently for 30 minutes.
