Mutton Kofta Curry

Ingredients
Onions-3 medium
Ginger-1-inch piece
Garlic-4 flakes
Green chilies-6
Poppy seeds-1 tablespoon
Sesame seeds- 1 tablespoon
Cashews- 25 grams
Roasted peanuts- 25 grams
Coconut-1 small piece
Coconut milk-4 cups
Tamarind-1 small ball
Salt- to taste
Chilli powder -to taste
Garam masala-1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder- 1 teaspoon
Coriander leaves-Handful, chopped
For koftas
Mutton-500 grams, minced
Garlic-4 flakes
Ginger-1-inch piece
Green chilies-2
Coriander leaves-A big handful
Garam masala-1 teaspoon
Poppy seeds-1 tablespoon
Sesame seeds- 1 tablespoon
Salt -to taste
Egg-1
Directions

GETTING READY
1) Make tamarind pulp.
2) Make a paste of ginger, garlic, onions, chillies, nuts, poppy and sesame seeds and coconut.

MAKING
3) Make a smooth paste of all the kofta ingredients except for the egg.
4) Add egg to the paste and knead it. Make small balls or koftas. Deep fry to golden brown and keep aside.
5) Take a wok, and heat ghee. Now fry the spice paste until golden brown.
6) Put ground spices, turmeric and salt. Stir to mix well.
7) Add coconut milk and tamarind pulp. Cook until gravy is thick.
8) Add the kofta balls and cook for 5-10 minutes on low heat.

SERVING
9) Serve hot mutton kofta curry garnished with coriander leaves along with chapati.
