Sweet Sour Pot Roast
|Round-bone pot roast||5 Pound|
|Onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), sliced|
|Vinegar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
Melt shortening in a heavy kettle.
Brown meat in melted fat.
Add onions and cook until transparent.
Return meat to kettle.
Add remaining ingredients.
Cover and simmer over low heat until meat is tender.
This will take about 3 1/2 hours.
If desired thicken broth, using 1 1/2 table- spoons of flour for every cup of liquid.
