Spicy Chopped Beef Kebabs
|Onion||1 Large, peeled and chopped|
|Garlic||3 Clove (15 gm), peeled and chopped|
|Fresh root ginger piece||1 Inch, chopped|
|Ground cumin||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground cardamom||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Chopped lean beef/Boneless lean chopped lamb / pork||1 Pound (Boneless)|
|Boneless lean beef/Boneless lean lamb / pork||1 Pound, chopped|
|Dry bread crumbs||3 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Chopped mint leaves||3 Tablespoon|
|Lemon juice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Cayenne pepper||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Freshly ground black pepper||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Vegetable oil||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Frying)|
Heat the butter in a frying pan over low heat.
Add the onion and saute for 3 minutes.
Add the garlic, ginger, cumin, and cardamom; saute the mixture, stirring occasionally, another 3-4 minutes, and reserve.
Mix together the meat, bread crumbs, egg, mint, chile, lemon juice, salt, cayenne, and black pepper.
Add the onion mixture to the meat mixture and shape into patties about 2 inches in diameter.
Heat about 3/4 inch of oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
Add the patties two or three at a time, to give the oil time to reheat, and cook until the patties are well browned, turning them frequently.
Drain them on paper towels and serve with a mixed salad and warmed pita bread.
