Oriental Chicken Chow
|Onion wedges||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (1 Medium)|
|Condensed chicken broth/Beef broth||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Canned bamboo shoots||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), drained (5 Ounce Can)|
|Canned sliced water chestnuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), drained (5 Ounce Can)|
|Soy sauce||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Cold water||1 Tablespoon|
|Canned drained mandarin oranges||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (11 Ounce Can)|
Brown chicken in hot oil in large fry pan for 7 to 10 minutes.
Add onion, broth, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and soy sauce.
Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.
Combine sugar and cornstarch; stir in cold water.
Add to chicken mixture, stirring carefully until mixture thickens.
Add mandarin oranges; heat through.
Serve on rice.
