Chicken Barbecue With Hummus

looking for a delicious treat that you and your children will also crave for? how about trying this sweet style chicken barbeque!
  Pineapple juice 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Tomato catsup 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Soy sauce 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Garlic 5 Clove (25 gm), crushed
  Onion 1 Small, sliced into pieces
  Ground black pepper 1 Teaspoon
  Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
  Whole chicken/Pre-cut frozen chicken thawed 1 1⁄2 Kilogram, cut into barbecue sizes
  Sauce 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (3 tablespoon bbq sauce or tomato catsup, 2 tbsp water, 5 tbsp cooking oil, mix well and set aside)
  Bbq sauce 3 Tablespoon (3 Tablespoon Bbq Sauce Or Tomato Catsup, 2 Tbsp Water, 5 Tbsp Cooking Oil, Mix Well And Set Aside)
  Catsup 2 Tablespoon (3 Tablespoon Bbq Sauce Or Tomato Catsup, 2 Tbsp Water, 5 Tbsp Cooking Oil, Mix Well And Set Aside)
  Cooking oil 5 Tablespoon (3 Tablespoon Bbq Sauce Or Tomato Catsup, 2 Tbsp Water, 5 Tbsp Cooking Oil, Mix Well And Set Aside)

I. mix all ingredients in a large, deep sauce pan.
II. bring to boil in low heat. once boiled, turn off heat immediately. set aside.
III. on the grill, bring to flame charcoal. once flamingly hot, drain the boiled marinated chicken and toss in the chicken pieces to the grill and brush the chicken with the prepared mixture sauce.
IV. from time to time, brush the chicken with the mixture sauce to prevent the chicken to be over burnt.
V. toss and turn to the other side, and brush it once again with the mixture sauce.
VI. repeat, procedure IV. once cook, set on a platter.
VII. add in some onions (half) and tomatoes on the grill which can be used later as a side dish.
VIII. serve while still hot and steamy. enjoy!

Looks mouthwatering. A very nice presentation . But I want to know that how this dish is different from roasted chicken?

from what i think, in roasting the heat is evenly distributed all over (like oven with flame)to the meat by which the meat is mostly whole like whole chicken, whole pig, whole lamb, whole duck, or a piece that is large enough for one person. which then is punctured with a large, pointed metal or branch of wood or bamboo in the center (and moslty the center of gravity) and to evenly keep or distribute the heat evenly it must be turned round and round again in the heat. while in BBQ, the meat is usually pre-cut into ready-to-eat sizes, and the heat is coming from below. it is toss and turned from time to time once 1 side is cooked. mostly done in charcoal. hope this helps...

thanks again paris! actually, had this served last weekend when all my folks were here. i decided to make a hummus dip for and eventually thinking later of matching it with something out of the ordinary (i'm in mid-east btw, so kebab and shawarma are commonly paired with hummus). gladly, my folks were more than satisfied than me! not a single piece was left! though they can be just so hungry? LOL
