Javanese Peanut Sauce

Ingredients
  Onion 1 Small, chopped
  Peanut oil/Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
  Ground cardamom/Seeds from 4 cardamom pods, crushed 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Creamy peanut butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Soy sauce 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Lemon juice 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Liquid red pepper seasoning 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

1. Saute the onion in oil just until soft in a small skillet; stir in cardamom. Let cool slightly.
2. Blend peanut butter with brown sugar in a small bowl; stir in soy sauce, lemon juice and red-pepper seasoning, then the cooled onion mixture.
3. Let stand at room temperature till serving time.
