Indonesian Beef

Ingredients
  Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
  Yellow onion 1 Medium, peeled and chopped
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), peeled and minced
  Minced fresh ginger root/1/4 teaspoon ground ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Lean ground beef 1 Pound
  Crushed dried red pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Sweet red pepper/Sweet green pepper 1 Medium, cored, seeded, and cut into 1/4-inch strips
  Green onions 3 , trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Paprika 1 Pinch
Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Heat the oil in a heavy 9- or 10-inch skillet over moderate heat. Add the yellow onion, garlic, and ginger, and cook, uncovered, until the onion is golden—about 6 minutes.
2. Add the beef and dried red pepper, and cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the beef has browned—about 5 minutes. Add the green pepper, green onions, salt, and paprika, stir, and transfer the mixture to an ungreased 8"x 8"x 2" baking dish. Gover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Before serving, tilt the dish and skim off the fat. Serve with steamed rice and Asparagus Chinese Style.
