|Vegetable oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Yellow onion||1 Medium, peeled and chopped|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), peeled and minced|
|Minced fresh ginger root/1/4 teaspoon ground ginger||1 Teaspoon|
|Lean ground beef||1 Pound|
|Crushed dried red pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Sweet red pepper/Sweet green pepper||1 Medium, cored, seeded, and cut into 1/4-inch strips|
|Green onions||3 , trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces|
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Heat the oil in a heavy 9- or 10-inch skillet over moderate heat. Add the yellow onion, garlic, and ginger, and cook, uncovered, until the onion is golden—about 6 minutes.
2. Add the beef and dried red pepper, and cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the beef has browned—about 5 minutes. Add the green pepper, green onions, salt, and paprika, stir, and transfer the mixture to an ungreased 8"x 8"x 2" baking dish. Gover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Before serving, tilt the dish and skim off the fat. Serve with steamed rice and Asparagus Chinese Style.
