Oriental Pear Half Moons
|Pie crust mix||5 1⁄2 Ounce (1 stick or 1/2 packet)|
|Canned sliced pears||8 1⁄2 Ounce, drained (1 can)|
|Chopped crystallized ginger/2 tablespoons ginger / orange marmalade||1 Tablespoon|
|Ginger/Orange marmalade /about 1 tablespoon chopped crystallized ginger||2 Tablespoon|
|Soft butter/Margarine||1 Tablespoon|
|Icing||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Quick)|
Heat oven to 425°.
Prepare pastry for One-crust Pie as directed on package except—after rolling pastry, cut into six 5-inch rounds.
Place rounds on ungreased baking sheet.
Place 2 or 3 pear slices on each round; top with 1 teaspoon marmalade and 1/2 teaspoon butter.
Fold over dough; seal with fork and prick top.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown.
While warm, drizzle Quick Icing on half-moons or, using a decorating cone, make Oriental characters with icing.
