Tomato Dolmasi Turkish Style

  Tomatoes 6 Medium
  Ground lamb 1 Pound
  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Garlic clove 1 Small, minced
  Dried marjoram 1⁄2 Teaspoon, crushed
  Ground cinnamon 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Regular rice 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Beaten egg 1

Cut off tops of tomatoes and scoop out center.
Invert tomatoes to drain.
Sprinkle cavities with salt.
Chop tomato centers and tops.
Cook lamb, onion, and garlic till meat is browned.
Drain off fat.
Add chopped tomato, marjoram, cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper.
Cook rice according to package directions.
Combine meat mixture, cooked rice, and egg.
Spoon into tomato shells.
Place in 10x6x2-inch baking dish; cover loosely with foil.
Bake at 350° till heated, about 30 minutes.
