Asian Nasi Goreng
|Uncooked rice||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Water||6 Cup (96 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄2 Pound (1 Cup)|
|Minced dry red chili peppers||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Chopped salted peanuts||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Chopped onions||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Cubed cooked ham/12 ounce canned luncheon meat cut in 1/2 inch cubes||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Prawns||1 Pound, cooked shelled cleaned (Medium)|
Cook rice in boiling salted water until tender but not mushy.
Melt butter in a small saucepan and stir in chili peppers (they should be almost powdery).
Add peanuts and onions and cook slowly for 5 minutes.
Pour over the rice and add the cubed meat and prawns.
Toss together carefully with 2 forks.
Taste for seasoning.
Set aside to season and blend flavors.
Place over low heat just before serving time; toss occasionally to prevent scorching.
