Turkish Pumpkin Dessert

Taste it to believe it that this Turkish Pumpkin Dessert is just out of this world. This is one of my most favorite desserts and instantly peps me up. Enjoy this dish with your kin and friends and get back to me with all that they have said.
Ingredients
  Pumpkin flesh 2 1⁄4 Pound
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Walnuts 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
Directions

GETTING READY
1 Cut the pumpkin flesh into thin, rectangular pieces measuring about 3 x 1 1/2 inches.
2 In a very wide, flameproof earthenware casserole dish, put the pumpkin pieces.
3 Sprinkle with the sugar.
4 Pour in just enough water to cover.
5 Set aside for 24 hours.

MAKING
6 Place the casserole dish on a moderate heat and bring to a boil.
7 Reduce the heat, and simmer gently for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pumpkin is tender.
8 Allow to cool at room temperature.

SERVING
9 Serve in small bowls or dishes, sprinkled with the chopped walnuts.
