Globe Artichokes With Butter

Ingredients
  Artichokes 4
  Lemon 1 , sliced
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs) (adjust quantity as needed)
  Butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Lemon 1 , juiced
  Salt To Taste
Directions

GETTING READY
1 Cut the top and side points of the artichokes.
2 Trim the stems.
3 Rub lemon on the cut surfaces.

MAKING
4 In a large pot, add water and bring it to a boil along with lemon.
5 Put in the artichokes.
6 Cover the artichokes with a tea towel.
7 Place a wire rack or heat proof plate over the towel, to weigh down the artichoke.
8 Boil for about 30 minutes, or until the outside leaves pull off easily.
9 Using a slotted spoon, remove from the water.
10 Refresh with cold water and allow to cool.
11 Carefully open up the center.
12 Using a spoon, scoop out the choke.
13 Discard the choke and the stem.

SERVING
14 Excellent served with butter seasoned with lemon juice and hot sauce.
