Artichoke Hearts Au Gratin
|Frozen artichoke hearts||18 Ounce (2 packages, 9 ounces each)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Onion salt||1 Teaspoon|
|Dry mustard||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|All purpose flour||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Milk||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Egg||1 , slightly beaten|
|Grated swiss cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Fine dry bread crumbs||1 Tablespoon|
Cook artichokes as directed on package.
Drain; reserve 1/2 cup liquid.
Melt butter in saucepan.
Stir in seasonings and flour.
Gradually stir in artichoke liquid and milk.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Remove from heat.
Stir hot sauce gradually into egg and half of cheese.
Put artichokes in a layer in shallow baking dish.
Cover with sauce.
Sprinkle with remaining cheese, the crumbs, and paprika.
Bake in preheated very hot oven (450Â° F.) for about 15 minutes.
