Applesauce Spice Cookies

  Diet margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), firmly packed
  Unsweetened applesauce 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Vanilla extract 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Sifted all purpose flour 2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs)
  Baking soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1⁄8 Teaspoon

1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
2. Using electric mixer at high speed, beat together diet margarine and brown sugar in large bowl until creamy; beat in applesauce and vanilla extract.
3. In separate bowl, sift flour again along with baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. With mixer at low speed, slowly stir flour mixture into applesauce mixture.
4. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 1 1/2 inches apart onto cookie sheet with nonstick finish. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove cookies to wire rack to cool.
