Applesauce Topped Beef And Sausage Loaf

Ingredients
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Pork sausage 1⁄2 Pound
  Dry bread crumbs/Cracker crumbs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Onion 1 Small, minced
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Thyme 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Sage 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Garlic powder 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Applesauce 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Beer 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

1. For meat loaf, mix ingredients. Shape into an elongated loaf. Place in a shallow roasting pan.
2. Bake at 350°F 50 minutes.
3. Spoon fat from pan. Spread 1/3 cup applesauce over meat loaf. Bake 10 minutes longer.
4. For sauce, heat 1 cup applesauce and beer to simmering; serve over meat loaf slices.
