Nut-Filled Baked Apples
|Baking apples||8 Medium|
|Granulated sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Ground nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Packed brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Wash and core apples (do not peel).
In saucepan, combine granulated sugar, water and butter; heat, stirring, until sugar is dissolved.
For filling, thoroughly combine nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and egg.
Spoon filling into apples until 2/3 full.
Pour syrup over the filling until cavity is filled.
Place apples on accessory crock pot Rack in the crock pot.
Add 1/2 cup water.
Cover and bake on low setting for 8 to 10 hours (on high setting for 3 to 4 hours).
