Place apples, sugar, cinnamon, and water in slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low 4 to 6 hours, until apples are tender.
Turn heat on high and prepare dumplings.
To prepare dumplings, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Drop from a tablespoon on top of hot apples.
Cover and continue to cook on high for about 30 minutes without removing the lid.

Combine sugar and flour in a saucepan.
Stir in water; bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thickened.
Stir in butter and nutmegl Place hot apples and dumplings in dessert bowls and spoon hot Nutmeg Sauce over each.
