Candied Yams 'N Apples
|Apples||2 Large, peeled|
|Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), melted|
|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Scrub yams; do not peel. Cook, covered, in boiling water until almost tender, 20 to 30 minutes. Drain and cool. Remove skins and cut into quarters. Cut each apple into eighths; remove core section. Arrange yams and apples in shallow baking pan, or slice each and layer in casserole. Combine butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sprinkle over yams and apples. Bake about an hour, basting often.
