Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Milk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Ground nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cardamom 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped pecans 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Finely chopped apple 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla frosting 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well.
Add egg and milk; beat well.
Combine flour, soda, salt, and spices; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
Stir in the raisins, pecans, and apple.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls, 1 1/2 inches apart, onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Cool on wire racks.
Frost with vanilla frosting.
