Apple Cheese Crisp
|Apples||6 Pound (16 To 20 Medium Sized)|
|Lemon juice||4 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs), sifted|
|Crisco||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|American cheese||24 Ounce, shredded (6 Cups)|
1 Grease four 12x8x2-inch baking dishes.
2 Preheat the oven to 350°F.
3 Pare, core, and slice the apples.
4 Put them in the prepared baking dishes.
5 Sprinkle with cinnamon.
6 In a bowl, mix 3/4 cup water and the lemon juice.
7 Evenly pour over apples.
8 In another bowl, mix sugar, flour, and salt.
9 Cut in Crisco until crumbly.
10 Stir in cheese lightly.
11 Sprinkle the apples in baking dishes with this mixture.
12 Bake for 30 minutes or until topping is browned and apples are tender.
13 Serve at once.
