|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Lemon peel||2 Teaspoon|
|Cinnamon||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Red food color||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
1 In a pan, combine sugar, water, lemon peel, cinnamon and food color.
2 Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
3 Core apples and peel the top third of apple.
4 In a baking dish, arrange the apples and pour syrup over them.
5 Bake in 350°Fahrenheit oyen for about 1 hour.
6 If very soft apple is desired, cook a little longer.
7 Baste frequently with syrup.
8 Serve warm or cold can be served with cream.
