Yam And Apple Bake
|Apple||24 Cup (384 tbs) (Ida Red Is A Good Choice)|
|Water||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
Oven at 325Â°F.
Cook yams until tender.
Cool under cold water, then peel and slice.
Peel apples and slice.
Cook in water about 1 minute.
Stir in butter and sugar blended with cinnamon.
Cook further until tender but not falling apart.
Place a layer of yam slices over bottom of a lightly buttered baking dish(es).
Cover with a layer of apple slices.
Add half the cooking liquid from the apples.
Cover and bake 50 minutes, or until heated through.
If prepared ahead and refrigerated, allow extra time for heating.
