|Cooking apples||8 Ounce|
|Castor sugar||2 Tablespoon (Leveled)|
|Trifle sponge cake||2|
1) Peel apples quarter and core them. Slice thinly.
2) Preheat moderate oven (350°F. - Gas Mark 4).
3) Arrange apples in the base of a shallow 1 pint baking dish.
4) Sprinkle sugar on top.
5) Halve sponge cake and place over the apples cut side down.
6) In a bowl whisk together egg and milk. Pour over the sponge cakes.
7) Keep in oven and bake for 30-40 minutes.
8) Serve warm or cold.
