Cascade Apple-Meringue Dessert
|All purpose flour||130 Gram, sifted|
|Whole blanched almonds||6 Tablespoon, cut|
|Lemon peel||3 Teaspoon, shredded|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Apples||5 , halved (Peeled And Cored)|
|Raspberry jam||6 Tablespoon|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1)In a bowl, beat together butter and sugar.
2)Add egg yolks and beat.
3)Then, add flour, almonds and lemon peel. Mix well.
4)Take an 8 x 8 x 2 inch cake pan and put dough bottom.
5)Brush with slightly beaten egg white. Reserve some for meringue
6)Bake it at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Cool.
7)In a large skillet, add sugar and lemon juice, add apple halves.
8)Cover the skillet tightly and cook slowly until apples are just tender.
9)Spread cooled crust with jam, then arrange apple halves in pan.
10)Beat egg whites and salt until stiff.
11)Add sugar, 1 tablespoon sugar, adding at a time and beat until sugar is completely dissolved.
12)Pile the mixture lightly on apples and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes, or until meringue is lightly browned.
13)Serve the cascade apple meringue dessert immediately.
