Rosy Cinnamon Apples

Ingredients
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Red cinnamon candies 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Hot water 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Tart apples 2 1⁄2 Pound (6 Medium Sized Ones, Such As Winesap)
Directions

1. In medium skillet, dissolve sugar and candies in hot water, stirring; bring to boiling; simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes.
2. Pare and core apples; arrange on side in syrup.
3. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat 10 minutes. Turn apples; cook 10 to 15 minutes longer, covered, or until tender when pierced with cake tester.
4. Serve slightly warm or well chilled in their syrup with cream.
