Crunchy Baked Apples
|Rice cereal||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Dates||6 (extra dates required)|
|Cooking apple||6 Large|
|Lemon||1 (rind grated)|
|Red currant||2 Tablespoon|
Core apples and peel halfway down.
Chop dates, mix with sugar, butter and lemon rind.
Fill the centres of the apples with this.
Bake in greased oven dish in moderate oven for 30 — 40 minutes.
When almost cooked, brush the apples with the red currant jelly and coat with rice cereal.
Continue cooking till apples are tender.
Top with a stoned date.
