Fresh Apple Cookies

Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Dark brown sugar 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Egg 1 , unbeaten
  Sifted flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Unpared apples 1 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped
  Raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
  Apple juice/Milk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Combine shortening, sugar, salt, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and egg; mix well.
Sift flour with soda.
Add half flour mixture to shortening mixture; blend.
Stir in apples, raisins, nuts, apple juice, or milk.
Add remaining flour; mix well.
Drop tcaspoonfuls of dough onto greased baking sheet.
Bake at 400 degrees for 11-14 minutes.
Remove cookies from sheet.
While still hot, spread with thin coating of vanilla glaze.
