Baked Apples With Blackberries

Ingredients
  Cooking apples 4 Medium
  Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
  Blackberries 3 1⁄2 Ounce, thawed (100 Gram)
  Flaked almonds 1⁄2 Ounce, flaked (15 Gram)
  Ground allspice 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Lemon rind 1⁄2 Teaspoon, finely grated
  Demerara sugar 2 Tablespoon (Brown Crystal)
  Port 1⁄2 Pint (300 Milliliter)
  Cinnamon stick 1 , broken
  Cornflour 2 Teaspoon, blended (Cornstarch)
  Low fat custard 1 Tablespoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1)Preheat oven to 400 degrees F or 200 degrees C or Gas Mark 6.
2)Wash apples and dry them. Make not very deep cuts around the middle of the apples so that they cook thoroughly.
3)Deseed the apples and treat centers with lemon juice to prevent decoloration. Place in oven proof shallow dish.

MAKING
4)In a mixing bowl, mix almonds, blackberries, lemon rind, allspice and sugar.
5)With a teaspoon, take some mixture and fill cores of the apples.
6)Into the dish pour in the port, add cinnamon stick.
7)Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until apples are soft. Remove the juices and keep apples warm.
8)To the fruit juices, add cornflour after discarding cinnamon. Heat and stir to thicken.
9)Let custard be heated until it begins to steam.

SERVING
10)In a serving dish, place the apples, pour the warm sauce over it and serve with piping hot custard.
