Cheddar Apple Dessert Pizza
|Vegetable shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Shredded cheddar cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Ice water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), softened|
|Lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Prepare crust: In Batter Bowl, combine flour with salt.
With Pastry Blender, cut in shortening until crumbly.
Add cheese and toss lightly.
Sprinkle ice water gradually over mixture, then shape into a ball with lightly floured hands.
Place dough in center of the 13-inch Round Baking Stone and with Dough and Pizza Roller, roll outward from center in all directions to cover Baking Stone.
Pinch edges of dough upward to form a 1-inch rim.
Prepare topping: In bowl, mix sugars with flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
Spinkle half of sugar mixture over crust.
Cut butter into remaining sugar mixture until crumbly and set aside.
Peel, core and slice apples using Apple Peeler/Corer/Slicer.
Arrange apple rings on crust in overlapping circles.
Sprinkle with lemon juice, then with sugar-butter mixture.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes, or until apples are tender and crust is browned around edges.
