Apples And Potatoes
|Potatoes||1 1⁄2 Pound, cut into 1 -inch cubes to make 4 cups (4 Medium Sized)|
|Tart apples||2 , sliced|
|Bacon slices||4 , cut into 1 inch pieces|
|Onion||1 Medium, sliced|
|Margarine/Butter||1 Tablespoon, softened|
|Ground nutmeg||1 Dash|
Heat 1 inch salted water (1 teaspoon salt to 1 cup water) to boiling.
Add potatoes, apples and sugar.
Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
Cover and cook until potatoes are tender, 10 to 15 minutes; drain.
Fry bacon until crisp; drain.
Cook and stir onion in bacon fat until tender.
Place potatoes and apples in serving bowl.
Dot with margarine; sprinkle with nutmeg.
Top with onion and bacon.
